Responding to the Japan Floods

11th Jul 2018

Expert in this field

Western Japan has experienced significant rainfall and flooding over the course of early July 2018, particularly in Hiroshima and Okayama prefectures. Heavy rainfall has caused rivers to burst their banks and has resulted in extensive flooding and landslides. Many buildings have collapsed, transport routes have been disrupted and vast areas are covered in debris and thick mud.

As well as extensive damage to property, it is also sadly reported that over 150 people have lost their lives and many more are still missing. Immediate assistance to those affected is being provided by Government Agencies while flood warnings remain in effect in some of the worst hit areas.

Our Cunningham Lindsey team in Japan is currently assisting clients on losses in the affected region and are available to assist.
