At Sedgwick Claims Management Services, Inc. (Sedgwick) we are committed to the protection of your privacy. This Privacy Notice applies to the self-service applications of Sedgwick, as well as to visitors to all Sedgwick websites (including Sedgwick.com).

Collection & Use of Personally Unidentifiable Information

As is true with most websites, our systems automatically collect information such as the type and version of your browser, and whether you were directed to the self-service applications or this website from another website. We from time to time also automatically gather information about your use of our website, for example which pages you visited and how long you spent on each page.

This information is aggregated and used to develop demographic reports and usage statistics. The aggregate information is not tied to any personally identifiable information. The personally identifiable information collected at registration by our self-service or other applications will only be used by our systems to retrieve and protect your data for claims administration or other legitimate legal processing to provide services to you. If you apply to a job with Sedgwick via the website, your personally identifiable information will only be used to process your application, or remain on file in your applicant profile until it is removed either at your request or by Sedgwick after one year.

Disclosure of Personally Identifiable Information

Sedgwick does not disclose any personally identifiable information to any third party outside the legal need-to-know claims process and related services including care coordination, customer care, service quality, business management and operation, risk assessment, information security, privacy protection and fraud and crime prevention/detection, except as follows: (1) with your consent, (2) as required by law, regulation, or legal process, (3) in connection with a sale of all or substantially all of the assets of Sedgwick or the merger of Sedgwick into another entity or any consolidation, share exchange, combination, reorganization, or like transaction in which Sedgwick is not the survivor, or (4) if we believe it is necessary to assist law enforcement agencies or otherwise protect our legal rights.

If you apply for a job with Sedgwick or populate an employment profile, we from time to time disclose your Personally Identifiable Information to our agents for the purpose of evaluating your qualifications for the particular position you applied for, for other available positions or as otherwise required by law. from time to time also disclose your Personally Identifiable Information to third parties hired by us to collect, maintain, and analyze candidates for career positions or as otherwise required by law.

Control of Your PIN

Your account can be used to view sensitive information for applications where a PIN is required. It is, therefore, important that you keep your PIN private, as you would your banking PIN. If your PIN is compromised, contact Sedgwick immediately.

Protecting Your Information

Sedgwick takes our commitment to protecting your privacy seriously. We take reasonable measures to ensure your data remains secure, both internally and externally. However, no internet application can ever guarantee absolute security. Sedgwick will take reasonable measures to protect the confidentiality of your Social Security number and limit access to your Social Security number to those with a need for such information. Sedgwick prohibits unlawful disclosure of Social Security numbers. Our self-service applications use industry standard technology to encrypt data between your computer and our servers. Pages using this technology are identified by the use of https:// in the web address being displayed.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are automatically placed on a user’s computer. A “session cookie” is a cookie that will be automatically deleted when you close your browser. To better serve you, we from time to time set session cookies to identify which pages you visit, in what order you visit them, and how long you spend on each page. This cookie is not tied to any personally identifiable information. A “persistent cookie” is a cookie which will remain on your computer even after you close your browser. We from time to time use persistent cookies to enable access to identify you across multiple visits to Sedgwick web sites.

Amendments

From time to time we alter our Privacy Notice as we introduce new services or change existing ones. Changes to this notice are effective as soon as they are posted on this website and a notice has been placed on the login screens of the self-service applications. Children’s Privacy

Ours are general purpose and professional websites that do not knowingly collect any information from children under age 18 at any time. We also strive to be fully compliant with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We strongly encourage parents and guardians to regularly monitor and supervise their children’s online activities. If a child under the age of 18 has provided Personally Identifiable Information on one of our web site without the consent of his or her parent or guardian, we ask that a parent or guardian send an e-mail to the Sedgwick Webmaster, and we will delete the child’s Personally Identifiable Information from our files.
